Thursday Thirteen #91: 13 Things I’d Rather Be Doing Right Now
Have I been happy lately? If you read this blog regularly, you’re probably shaking your head and saying, “She’s not happy.” But the winds, they are changing. Still, here are…
13 Things I’d Rather Be Doing Right Now
13. Getting my nails done.
12. Running off to Rio, Rio by the sea-o.
11. Hiring a babysitter. Oh, wait… I did!
10. Celebrating our ten-year anniversary. Early.
9. Drinking a vodka-7. Oh, wait… I am!
8. Watching “The Office” and dang it — it’s not on ’til tomorrow night.
7. Watching “Lost” and dang it — it’s not on for four hours and 20 minutes.
6. Eating Indian food with mango lassi, relish and chutney. And naan. Oh, naan, how I adore thee.
5. Playing with a little puppy, then sending him home with someone else so they can pay his vet bills.
4. Watching the maid fold the laundry.
3. Having a “Land of the Lost” marathon with the kids instead of fixing dinner.
2. Hearing my son’s take on Shakespeare. “This is stupid! I don’t understand what this language even is!” No, actually I’m glad I’m not doing that.
1. Experiencing springtime in New York — the black squirrels in Central Park, a little shopping in the East Village, maybe going to a Broadway show, then going out to see the Statue of Liberty.
Ahh, I am going to diagnose you with a severe case of housebounditis, would I be close? Haven’t been around reading blogs like usual due to my finding out about stumbleupon last weekend. Hang in there, summer is almost here.

#4 sounds boring…why would you want to see the maid doing it? I’d rather you come to my place then we do some window shopping…

I’m totally with you on #5. There’s nothing sweeter than little baby puppies, but they sure are a lot of work and expense!

#5 would definitely make me happier.

Aw, I like #10 (and the post earlier in the day), and maybe that maid could come on over when she’s through at your place? ;)
(hey WM – why are folks commenting about their blog topics on your blog, especially when your blog is so darn interesting by itself?)
:)

Just wanted to tell you that Thing Three’s preschool class had a case of lice–one–as this is what they did:
Took every piece of classroom clothing out of the classroom and washed it on hot, then dried it on hot.
Had everyone take home all of their child’s clothing and bedding and wash/dry it on hot.
Told us what was going on the minute we got there.
Researched what to do about bike helmets (they have some communal bikes and bike helmets). They figured out a safe-for-kids cleaning solution. Every time a kid takes off a helmet (their’s or the pre-schools’s) a teacher cleans it with the solution. There are already three bottles of it out.
Had teachers check every head for four days.
Posted a notice on the door, outlining all of this and things to do.
And you know what? There have been no other kids to get them. Not a one.
I think PPS needs to adopt these strategies.
Also, I want a vodka-7, too!
