Charles Schulz, Charlie Brown’s dad, was a hockey referee and big supporter of the sport of hockey. He got an express pass to Heaven for that alone.

Schulz and his wife Joyce built a rink in Santa Rosa, known as Snoopy’s Home Ice. The grand opening in 1969 featured performances by Peggy Flemming and the Vince Guaraldi Trio.
The rink is still in operation.
