Thursday Thirteen Edition #48
What the hell — okay I’m in. This is not a commitment, Thursday Thirteen. But I’ll give it a shot.
Thirteen Things I’ve Accomplished This Week That Make Me Giddy
1) Signed up my grouchy grandma for Meals on Wheels. The woman is 86 and does not have much of an appetite, so maybe this will help. Or maybe she’ll kick my ass because she doesn’t need no stinkin’ charity. Her exact words were: “I don’t need their damn charity.” That’s the spirit! (If you have any spare change, please donate it to them. They do great work visiting the shut-ins, and income does not matter.)
2) Got my kids to swimming lessons 2 out of 3 times. Woo-hoo!
3) Worked out twice so far to make up for all the Oreos and mojitos over the holiday weekend.
4) Updated the blog. A bunch.
5) Went to the library to pick up the Summer Reading T-shirts they earned, and coupons for cheap ride bracelets at Oaks Amusement Park, and free tickets to see the Portland Beavers. See what reading will get ya?
6) Got ideas from Reading is Fundamental site for the kids
7) Had a real date with my husband — fancy dinner out and live theater. (“Ooh, I love legitimate theater” — Homer Simpson)
8) Got through Fourth of July with neurotic freak-out dog
9) Cleaned the house. Uh, sort of cleaned the house.
10) Finished the novel Ellen Foster in one night. It. Was. So. Good.
11) Ate so many fresh Oregon strawberries I thought I would die of happiness. (Thank you, Wacky Nekkid Neighbor, for leaving me in charge of your garden for the weekend!)
12) Knitted
13) Went the the farmers market with my sis and the kids and had a picnic at the park.
glad you got a real “date” with the hubby.

Wow, you’ve had a busy week! Is this your first time playing? If so, you did a great job, and welcome :)
I agree with #5 and #6, I love books, bookstores and the library. In fact, my T13 is about books this week…
Have a wonderful day!

Wow you did get a lot done.
Consequently for some reason when I hear, “meals on wheels” Twin Peaks immediately comes to mind. I must be crazy.
you remind me though that I should probably take my own wife for a real date. We need to do something!
