Thursday Thirteen, Ed. #120: A Little About Us

Thursday Thirteeners and Usual Suspects,
That Vixen. She kills me. She tagged me for a meme, “A Little About Us.” Cuz you know — Hockey God and I wrote the book of love. Steve, mi amor, I adore you.
The basic facts:
1) Who is your significant other? This crazy guy. He also blogs here, and we’re getting a new site going, NAWACOTID. (Because God knows, if anyone needs this, it’s us. We’re having fun with it. I’ll post the url when it’s up and running.)
2) How long have you been together? We met when he was my neighbor down the street. It was ’92, I think? Or ’93? We’d see each other at parties, the bus stop, when I rode my bike by his house, but were struck speechless by each other so things didn’t go far, at first. That would later change.
3) Dating/Engaged/Married: Married with 2 little rowdyass children, ages 5 & 8. We were engaged within two months after we started dating. Got married a year later, had our daughter two days before our first wedding anniversary, had our son 2 1/2 years after that. It’s been a wild ride — I love it.
4) How old is your S.O.? 42 this week.
5) What’s his/her middle name? His mother’s maiden name.
6) Who eats more? Tie. We are total foodies, especially when it comes to Indian food, and chocolate chip cookies.
7) Who says “I love you” first? Equal.
8) Who weighs more? He does. Thank God. It’s all that hockey — muscle mass.
9) Who sings better? I say he does, he says I do. We both have okay voices. He’s the more musically talented, for sure. Plays sax, guitar, bass and piano.
10) Who’s older? He is 17 months younger than I am. (A fact he never lets me forget. I get vengeance by telling everyone he’s five years older.)
11) Who’s smarter? He’s working outside the home and stuck paying most of the bills, I’m not. You decide.
12) Whose temper is worse? Oh, dear God. Mine. Except when the kids or I are in danger, then he goes nuts.
13) Who does the laundry? Ha! Ha! That’s funny. Me. He’s mastered the art of stepping over the laundry baskets while pretending they’re not there. Kinda like a kid who’s snuck a lollipop and walks through the room with his hands over his eyes so no one will notice. If I dump the laundry in his lap while he’s watching TV or a hockey game, then he’ll fold it.
bonus 1) Who does the dishes? He did the last two nights.
bonus 2) Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Me. And I usually get up on the wrong side. (Not a morning person.)
bonus 3) Who’s better with the computer? The man can build a computer. This blows my mind. I can occasionally, but not always, reboot.
bonus 4) Who mows the lawn? Me, cuz he’s not home during the day.
bonus 5) Who pays the bills? Me again.
bonus 6) Who cooks dinner? Usually Hockey God. We’re both good cooks, but he is faster. He fixes us all breakfast seven days a week, too.
bonus 7) Who drives when you are together? I love to drive, but we switch off.
bonus 8) Who pays when you go out to dinner? I am a kept woman, have you not figured that out yet?

I am very glad I can keep you laughing all the time. Or did you mean cracked like a glass ornament???
I did not do well at the NOWACOTID/real life extending into the entire holiday thing. By Friday, if not for outside intervention, I may have let my own mother have it….it was close but averted by my kids! Although, they did think she deserved it, they felt I would feel too bad about it afterwards and so distracted me, lol
