that’s the way it goes, folks
My problem with jobs is as follows: You look for one, you find one, then you gotta go there everyday. Until you work for a school district. Then you get unassigned in April, possibly get a new assignment by September, possibly don’t. Or you find a new job in your new county of residence, instead of commuting twenty miles a day (one way).
Either way, it kinda sucks when you buy a new house one week, then lose your job the next.
We’ll be fine. Don’t be crying for me out there — my job buys the groceries and that’s about it.
Oh, wait…
Ha, just kidding. We’ll be fine. Steve is The Man and you know how that one goes — if you’re just a girl you make half the money, work twice as hard, and people demand blow jobs of various sorts.
(Is it OK to say that here? “Various sorts”???)
Then eventually you get kicked out on your ass. The End. That’s the life of a girl. Man, do I want better for my daughter.

Well drat! I think it’s for a good reason, though, you know? It sounds like you’re in a really nice place, and Steve is closer to work, so maybe you need a term off to really get to know the nature trails and settle in? I know I did. I bet there will be something even better, come September. You have time to look carefully. And it might be really nearby too! Enjoy the Spring, go on walks (with the… new puppy??) And a jacuzzi sounds like a great plan for those extra hours in the evenings! Sending positive amazing vibes.

Well crap, Nancy! I’m sorry to hear this. I do hope that there are better opportunities for you on the other side of this. If anyone can make lemonade out of a truckload of life’s lemons, it’s you, baby!

Sucky, sucky, sucky! The only ‘good’ thing I can see in this is you’re finished with PPS. You can ‘shake the dust off your sandals’ so to speak. They’re in such miserable shape that you probably wouldn’t have quit their sorry asses (out of concern for the students), but I REALLY, TRUELY feel you’re better off not working for that ‘organization’-and I use the term loosely.

That’s definitely a problem with working for govt, cuts can come anytime. Hospital cuts will be happening by this summer b/c of cuts here in NH.
Everything happens for a reason, it just sucks for now. Good luck.

ACK! SAD! I missed this and I’m so sorry!!! Now you live all the way on the other side of the earth and it’s so hard to just drop into a coffee shop together and split a lemon bar and catch up on life and… ACK!
So sorry, although now you’ll have plenty of time to arrange & rearrange knick-knacks. And shuttle those wacky kiddos to their schools. The hood misses you already, WM, and so do those beautiful little readers at your job.
