Portland Aerial Tram
Do you ever wonder what it would be like, dangling from a thin cable way up high, swaying in the wind, praying you don’t crash to a sudden death?
Me neither.
My kids and husband wanted to know, though, and today they took a ride on the Portland Aerial Tram. I stayed home and read a book. It was a boring book, I’ll spare you the details. Then I washed dishes, did some laundry, worked out, stretched into some yoga poses and meditated until they all three tromped back home. That’s all the excitement I need.
Pictures on Flickr, if you’re interested.

I am not fond of heights anymore. As a teenager I used to climb to the tops of waterfalls and sit with my legs hanging over a cliff and eat lunch. After having kids I developed a horrible fear of heights. When we went to Vegas and the hubs and kids wanted to go up to the to of that needle-thingy, I waited in the parking lot. Wished I’d had a book.

I used to do all the rollercoasters and ferris wheels with my daughter. Not any more! I miss the bonding experience, but I don’t miss the heights.

I sent the kids solo too. (I know, I expect to get that Mother of the Year call any minute now.) I don’t do heights. I think it looks cool though.
