Wacky Mommy, is a Portland, Ore. native who lives, works and blogs in North Portland. She has two cool kids (Wacky Girl, age 10, and Wacky Boy, age 7), three wacky cats, and Hockey God, her hockey-playing computer guy husband who also writes incessantly about school politics.
Wacky Dog, loyal friend and companion, passed away in February 2007. The Wacky Family remains heartbroken by this loss and will never, ever, ever, ever, not ever get another dog. Not even a super-cute one like a border collie or a dachshund. It’s okay. Fish tanks are enough.
She writes, gardens, edits, drinks too much coffee, forgets to fix dinner and freaks out occasionally. She confuses the following words: “compost” and “recycle” (aren’t they the same thing, really?); “condone” and “condemn”; “pediatrician” and “veterinarian.”
This is something old, but it looks new! Weird.

As a fellow Eastside Rat in Portland, my suspicion is that we may have met… in any case, I have unfortunately found your site to be great reading… this is primarily unfortunate for me, as I’m supposed to be working, but have been distracted by your archives instead. And thanks for the good word on The Big Book of Girl Stuff! Much appreciated.
