i love you internets

February 10th, 2009

you know when you think to yourself, Self, I just have not been sick very much this year. And that RAWKS because when i get sick I get pneumonia, or bronchial pneumonia or just plain bronchitis or bronchitis aggervated by asthma and yay, me!

Yeah. You know what i’m going to say next. Last week I was puking my guts out with flu; this week it’s cold and sinuses and tight lungs and Severe Pain with Fever.

Whatever.

It is sickening to read about other people’s sicknesses. Only good thing about reading about them is that it means: They do not cough or sneeze on you, cuz they’re inside the internet.

Huh.

Good new? I have no good news. It’s February. We haven’t filed our taxes yet. I have taken a disliking to food. All food. Any food. I wish to photosynthesize. This is not the norm — I love food. Am foodie. Will eat pretty much whatever, whenever:

calamari
escargot
fish fingers dipped in tartar sauce
corn on the cob
tater tots
filet mignon
Texas burgers on an onion bun with fresh tomato and onion
tomato sandwich with mayo, salt and pepper
deviled eggs
tuna casserole
blueberry buckle
tapioca
Indian food
roast beast
veggie meatloaf with polenta
anything spicy
chile relleno burrito
Tom Kha soup
phad Thai noodles
anything on a stick — BBQ chicken, meatballs, veggie kebabs

Right now? Nothing sounds good. Nothing has sounded good in months. No, I don’t want to go to the doctor, cuz she’ll say, sure, you’ve lost 20 pounds. Now drop 20 more and we’ll talk.

Anyway. Do you ever lose your appetite? Never lose your appetite? What do you like to eat? Why? Will you make me some soup and bring it over? Naw, forget it. Even soup doesn’t sound good.

I loved when I was nursing, cuz I could et SO MUCH and not gain weight. Trouble was, when I weaned the babes, I was in the habit of eating HUMUNGOUS amount of food, but not burning so many calories–hello big butt!

I never lose my appetite. Even when I have the flu I am hungry. I didn’t burn lots of calories when I was nursing, I envy LIB. I gained more weight when I was nursing than I did when I was pregnant.
My favorite thing to eat right now is chips and salsa, and wc2.0’s fave is a bagel with cream cheese, or a baby bowl of vanilla yogurt. He spills a little on his belly every time, then gets one of the dogs to clean his shirt. My dogs love having a kid. They want at least ten kids. Or one that eats about forty two meals a day.

Lib, you know what I loved eating when I was nursing? Cake. Cake is so good, isn’t it? Today I’m thinking — I’ll have a smoothie. That’s easy enough. So I threw all ingredients in blender and there they sit. Waiting.

wacky cousin, you know me, as we are cousins. Have I ever lost my appetite? Ever? No. Except when I was pregnant. I love the baby belly stories. Good doggies.

Oh I’m so hungry right now!
My fav thing to eat these days is olives. Fresh, yummy, local. I like the green-garlic-lemon ones a lot. Too much.

Also I have been eating way too many pastries. Yummy pastries. The new pastry shop across from the kids’ school has this thing with whipped cream and chocolate and puff pastry that is heavenly–it melts in your mouth and onto your thighs in an instant.

I’m worried about you. But also, just a teensy bit envious. Have you really lost 20 pounds? I think I found it…

I had very little appetite during the first half of this pregnancy – I was actually feeling like it was a little odd… not nauseous (thank God), but not hungry in the slightest. Nothing sounded good to eat. …nothing, except chocolate.

I’m officially no longer a chocolate-snob roots. Safe to say that I eat chocolate daily, and sometimes I force myself to eat something nutritious just so I can justify the chocolate treat later.

It was fine, probably, since my appetite didn’t exist until 2 weeks ago. However, now I’m hungry. Really really hungry. All. The. Time. And I still mostly want chocolate – just more of it. :)
